Arbitration Rules and Resources

The Board’s Arbitration Committee deals with Claims for commission between Principal Broker/Firms of the Eastern Regional Boards (“the Board”).

Eastern Regional Boards (ERB)

As a term of Membership in the Board, all Firms must submit inter-brokerage commission disputes to the Arbitration Roster for resolution, unless both parties have mutually agreed not to arbitrate the Claim and have informed the CEO in writing. Information about these processes can be found in the Arbitration and Professional Standards Policies.

When there is a commission dispute, the Board encourages cooperation and communication between Principal Brokers. If a resolution cannot be reached between the parties, a Principal Broker can file an Arbitration Claim with the Board in accordance with the Arbitration and Professional Standards Policies.

The Arbitration and Professional Standards Policies, the Claim Form, and the Defence Form can be obtained below. The Claim Form and Defence Form provided below are digital forms that will be forwarded to the Professional Standards Department upon submission.

Questions, comments, and concerns can be sent to standards@oreb.ca.
